Alive Vibrant Timaru is made up of four dedicated volunteers who are passionate about preserving the heritage buildings of Timaru and promoting public art in our community. With the backing of the Timaru Civic Trust, our team works tirelessly to bring building owners and artists together to create stunning public art pieces that enhance the beauty of Timaru’s historic buildings.

As volunteers, we understand the importance of collaboration and community engagement. That’s why we work closely with building owners to carefully select the best possible locations for our murals, and why we collaborate with local artists to bring their unique visions to life. Our goal is to ensure that each mural is a true work of art that reflects the culture and heritage of Timaru.

In addition to our partnership with the Timaru Civic Trust, our team also provides valuable support and resources to artists, including workshops, learning opportunities, and access to our purpose-built container for practising street art. We believe that art should be accessible to everyone, and we are committed to supporting the growth and development of local artists.

We are proud to be a part of this effort to bring new life to Timaru’s heritage buildings and to celebrate our city’s rich cultural heritage through public art. Our team is dedicated to working tirelessly to bring the best possible outcomes to our community, and we hope you will join us in this effort.

Thank you for visiting our website and learning more about our organisation. We look forward to working with you to bring public art to Timaru!

The Alive Vibrant Timaru Team

Lynne Kerr

We have seen urban art grow and become part of the identity of a cityscape worldwide so I have been fortunate to work with this team, Alive Vibrant Timau, to bring projects to Timaru’s CBD and public spaces.

I strongly believe in the arts being the ‘heart of a city ‘and advocate for priority given to our galleries, theatres, museums and public spaces, so that we can all express ourselves and show off our diverse cultural heritage and the stories we tell.
